I plan to include more top brands into the database as soon as I get the chance, such as Sony and Panasonic. For now, feel free to visit the database and browse the displays at your leisure. Here are some of the displays I personally recommend for gaming based on my recent measurements, in no particular order:

1. 24″ ASUS VW246H

This monitor is very similar to the VH236H that is used in lots of gaming tournaments worldwide. ASUS has proven to being a reliable brand when it comes to making computer monitors, and the VW246H is no slouch. It has the same EXCELLENT 18ms input lag rating as the VH236H, except it is larger at 24″, and has a sleeker look. Why not get something bigger with the same responsive rating? The monitor supports up to 1080p resolution and has the necessary inputs for your consoles, such as HDMI.

2. 46″ Samsung UN46ES6100

This LED HDTV from Samsung has a GREAT input lag rating of 40ms, meaning it will be responsive with most fast paced games. This is actually one of the faster large HDTVs graded in our database. It has a 120hz screen, as well as 3 HDMI inputs to hook up your consoles. If you’re not looking for a 46″ TV, I also recommend its smaller cousin the UN40ES6100, as it has the same input lag rating as this HDTV. I’ve had great pleasure with Samsung HDTVs, as they have some of the most robust and easy to use configuration menus on a television. Samsung’s picture quality is usually a step above other display manufacturers too.

3. 55″ LG 55LS4500

LG’s 55-inch HDTV packs a punch with its GREAT input lag rating of 35ms. It has a LED backlight, a 120hz screen, and comes with 2 HDMI ports. One thing I really like about LG HDTVs is that they come with pre-configured picture modes based on ISF standards. What this means is that if you want cinema-like picture quality, you can simply select one of the ISF modes and all the hard work is already done for you. Keep in mind however that our input lag rating was taken based on this HDTV’s “Game Mode” for lowered image processing. Its good to know that you can easily switch picture modes depending on what you’re doing though!

4. 60″ Samsung PN60E550

Plasma lovers rejoice! Samsung have a beast of a TV here. This TV has a GREAT rating of 38ms, which is fairly responsive for gaming. You would think this rating would come with a catch? Nope! You have a 60″ 3D Plasma HDTV with all of Samsung’s goodness in it. It has a 600hz screen, which equates to amazingly clear fast images, and deep black levels due to the nature of Plasma HDTVs. If you’re all about picture quality, get this HDTV and have fun gaming without worry.

5. 24″ ASUS PA248Q

Are you a graphic designer? I personally recommend this monitor as I use it myself. It has a GREAT input lag rating of 36ms, and it houses a IPS panel for those that are very picky about color accuracy. Some of you may know that cheaper computer monitors use TN panels, which are very low quality but are EXTREMELY responsive for gaming. Most of those monitors have an excellent rating in my database. While this monitor falls under the great rating, I have no issues using it practicing for Street Fighter tournaments. It comes with a very sturdy stand, probably one of the best ever created, and supports potrait and landscape positioning. It comes with a 1920 x 1200 resolution (16:10) for taller image viewing. It also features 3 USB 3.0 ports, and includes HDMI, DVI, VGA, and DisplayPort connectivity. This monitor has it all.

There are many more displays that are great for gaming covered in the database, so make sure you check it out when you get the chance! Also read up on DisplayLag’s grading scale if you have any questions.
