I really want to give a special shoutout to the Toshiba 55″ 55L6200U. This HDTV really surprised me, considering Toshiba’s poor track record so far with gaming performance. This HDTV measured in at an amazing 18ms! It is one of the fastest large HDTVs I have tested so far, and you should definitely check it out! Don’t forget to check out the database to see all of the displays graded from your favorite brands.

  • Thought about doing older HD TVs? Just got a Samsung LN40A330J1DXZA and I would love to see the input lag on it. Keep up the great work on this site. Been wanting a site like this for the longest time and I’m glad somebody finally made it.

  • Could you please do the popular ones? You know, those that are made for gaming by professional gamers, like this one:

    • If I can get my hands on it, I will. If someone had one in my area, I’d be willing to grade it. Unfortunately I do not have any hookups towards specific brands/displays of my choosing. ๐Ÿ™

  • This site is awesome. Another request is input lag results from the various HDTVs at Costco. I know a lot of people shop for televisions there — as I’m considering in the 50-55″ range — but I see none of their available models on your list.

  • Ive been contemplating buying a VE278H. I would really appreciate if you could get your hands on one and test its input lag.

  • I have been thinking of getting the Samsung PN60E550 but will this be good enough for competitive fighting games? I know that the rating for this says ‘Great’ on the display database but I just wanted your opinion, Thanks

    • It depends on your goals. If you’re trying to compete at a tournament level, then I would recommend sticking with displays rated “EXCELLENT”. If you mostly play for fun but dislike feeling input lag, a “GREAT” display should be fine for your needs.

  • I see thanks for your reply, although I donโ€™t compete at tournament level I still would like to not feel input lag. My current TVs input lag was terrible to the point I could not perform basic combos in games at all, so I had to resort to using an old CRT TV whenever I play. Since I want to go for a larger HDTV this time around, I just wanted to make sure the TVs that were listed as โ€˜GREATโ€™ were suitable enough. The TV I was considering has โ€˜38ms (PC)โ€™ input lag, do you reckon that games will be playable without noticing the lag? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make a good decision before purchasing lol. Thanks

    • I think most TVs under 40ms will be fine for your needs. The monitor I use is the ASUS PA248Q which is rated at 36ms, and I cannot feel lag on it even when playing Street Fighter competitively. That is what I used as a benchmark for my rating system. I think you should be fine as long as the rating is under 40ms.

  • Hi Adeel,

I see that the database is now over 500 entries long. Very good work and a useful resource we ourselves use in our reviews. Keep up the good work!
